SoCon Conference Tournament Preview and Predictions

The SoCon Conference tournament begins on Friday March 8th. All games are at the Harrah’s Cherokee center in Asheville, NC. The championship will be at 7 PM on Monday, March 11th.

Here are some teams to watch in this tournament:

#1 Samford : Samford loves to play very quickly, and they are very good at it. They have a fast paced offense that loves to attack the rim and shoot a lot of threes. They rode their offense to a 26-5 overall record, going 15-3 in conference while going 18-0 at home on the season. They are a very fun team and my pick to win this tournament. 

#2 UNC Greensboro : UNC Greensboro is a well balanced and experienced team that can shoot the 3 ball very well. They upset Arkansas early in the season and have proven themselves as a competitor in the SoCon.

#4 Western Carolina : Western Carolina may be the second strongest team in this conference but are stuck at the 4 seed due to a mid-season slump. They have wins over McNeese State, Notre Dame and Vanderbilt. They are balanced on both sides of the ball and I think they will give Samford it’s biggest challenge.
