Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Preview and Predictions

The Missouri Valley  conference tournament (Arch Madness) begins on Thursday March 7th. All games are at the Enterprise Center in Saint Louis, Missouri. The championship will be at 2 PM on Sunday, March 10th.

Here are some teams to watch in this tournament:

#1 Indiana State: Led by big man Robbie Avilia and a potent offense, Indiana State went 26-5 overall and 17-3 in a strong Missouri Valley Conference. They are in the mix to earn an at large bid, but it will be hard for them to feel safe without winning the conference tournament. Indiana State has the #1 eFG in the nation, have efficient shooters all over the floor, and have great team chemistry. They will be a tough out both in this tournament and possibly the NCAA tournament should they make it

#2 Drake : Drake won the 2023 Missouri Valley tournament and is in a great spot to do it again this year. They have a super efficient offense and split the season series with Indiana State en route to an impressive 16-4 conference record. They also hold a 19 point W over 25-6 Nevada, who will almost certainly make the NCAA tournament. Drake is my pick to win this years tournament and make it back to the NCAA tournament where they nearly upset Miami last year.

#3 Bradley: Although they have not been quite as strong as Drake or Indiana State this season, Bradley is a serious threat in the MVC. They are strong on both sides of the ball and are an experienced team with plenty of upperclassmen.

#5 Belmont : After a slow start, Belmont has gone 7-1 in its last 8 to close the season and has the highest T-rank in the conference since February 1st. If they can keep up that strong play there is no reason they can’t go on a run and win this tournament.
