America East Conference Tournament Preview and Predictions

America East

The America East Conference tournament begins on Saturday March 9th. All games are at the higher seed’s home arena. The championship will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 16th.

Here are some teams to watch in this tournament:

#1 Vermont: Vermont is going for its third straight America East tournament championship. They went 15-1 in conference play and picked up a couple nice out of conference wins against Yale and Charleston. Vermont plays sound defense, takes care of the ball, and doesn’t allow many second chance points. This program has been very successful in recent years and I expect that success to continue as they are my pick to win this tournament.

#2 UMass Lowell : UMass Lowell is an experienced team with 6 seniors in their rotation that has shown flashes of giving Vermont a run for its money. They beat Georgia Tech in the non-conference, and started 11-3 in conference before dropping their last two games. They will look to bounce back and find their form in this tournament.

#3 Bryant : Bryant is a team to look out for in this tournament. They beat FAU early on and have been consistently solid all season, going 11-5 in conference. Former St. Peter’s March legend and fan favorite Doug Edert is playing his final season of college basketball with Bryant and will look to cook up some more march magic for this Bryant team.
